Snape Shock: A Bold Display Font That Makes Branding Stand Out
Testing Snape Shock Across Branding Assets
Logo Design: Used on a simplified coffee cup icon, Snape Shock gave the logo a contemporary, artisanal edge. It wasn’t too literal—just enough stylized flair to suggest creativity without being over the top.
Packaging Mockup: Applied to a coffee bag label, the font looked great at a distance. It maintained clarity and impact even when scaled down a bit. The abstract shapes translated well into a tactile, printed format.
Business Card: In this small format, the font still read clearly, especially when used for the business name. It helped the card stand out without compromising legibility.
Social Media Layout: On Instagram story templates, Snape Shock brought a bold visual punch. It worked especially well in overlay text on product photos or behind short, impactful taglines.
Website Header: For the homepage hero section, I used it sparingly—mostly for the headline. It created a strong visual hierarchy when paired with a clean sans serif for subtext.
When Snape Shock Works—and When It Doesn’t
- Creative studio identities
- Handmade shop branding
- Festival posters and event flyers
- Instagram story text and digital ads
- Product packaging for niche or artistic goods
Pairing Snape Shock With Other Fonts
I found success pairing it with:
- A modern sans serif like Montserrat or Lato for clean, contemporary contrast
- A minimalist serif like Playfair Display for editorial or luxury-leaning projects
- A script font for layered, expressive layouts—just be careful not to overdo it
